How we handle data, and on what terms.
Farm data is personal data and commercially sensitive at the same time. This page sets out the principles we operate under. The binding terms for any engagement are those in the executed agreement — write to info@carbonbhoomi.com for the current full documents.
Data ownership
Data collected through the platform on your behalf remains yours. Ownership is contractual, retention periods are defined at the outset, and export in open formats is available on demand — including at the end of an engagement.
Farmer consent and personal data
Farm and farmer records are treated as personal data. Consent is recorded explicitly against each individual with the purpose stated, use is limited to that purpose, and withdrawal is supported. Programmes cannot repurpose farmer data across schemes without fresh consent.
Security controls
Data is encrypted in transit and at rest. Access is role-based across enterprise, FPO and field-officer tiers, with full action audit logging. Regional hosting options are available where data-residency requirements apply.
Sub-processors and third parties
Satellite imagery providers, hosting infrastructure and analytics services used in delivery are disclosed on request, with data-processing terms in place. We do not sell or license customer or farmer data to third parties.
Retention and deletion
Records are retained for the period agreed contractually or required by the relevant regulation — five years for EUDR due diligence evidence, for example — and deleted on request thereafter, subject to those statutory obligations.
Service terms
Platform access is governed by the master services agreement executed with each customer, covering scope, service levels, support commitments, fees, liability and termination. Field implementation services are scoped separately per engagement.
Changes to these terms
Material changes are communicated to customers in advance of taking effect. The version in force for any engagement is the one referenced in the executed agreement.
